  1. Remove 2 nuts securing intermediate pipe to tail
  2. Release intermediate pipe from tail pipe and
  3. Remove split pin and clevis pin securing handbrake cable to lever. Discard split pin.

  1. Remove 8 bolts securing chassis crossmember.
  2. With assistance and using a body jack between
  3. Remove crossmember.
  4. Remove body jack.
  5. Remove 2 screws securing fan cowl to upper retaining brackets.
  6. Release 2 clips securing upper fan cowl.
  7. Remove upper fan cowl.
  8. Raise ramp.
  9. Drain transfer gearbox oil. See MAINTENANCE , under vehicle maintenance
  10. Remove exhaust front pipe. See EMISSION CONTROL, Repair, front pipe/catalytic converter

remove from mounting.

chassis longitudinals, jack chassis sufficiently to enable removal of crossmember.
