Alarm Trigger

• Alarm armed with the bonnet open If the bonnet is open when the alarm is armed, the CCU will allow double locking of the panels and volumetric sensing and enter a partially armed state. All other functions of the alarm will be armed and the CCU will continue to monitor the open panel.

When the open panel is closed with the alarm in a partially armed state, the CCU will upgrade its status to fully armed. The CCU will initiate the upgrade when it senses that the panel which caused the mislock has been correctly closed.

Alarm Trigger

When the alarm is set in its fully armed condition, it can be triggered by the CCU if it receives one or more of the following input signals:

• Bonnet opening
• Tail door opening
• Drivers door or passenger doors opening
• A valid movement detected signal from the volumetric sensor
• On three door vehicles only - Removal of the hard back or removal/lowering of the soft back (if it was fitted when the alarm was armed).

After a valid alarm trigger input is received, the CCU will activate audible and visual warnings for approximately thirty seconds. The audible warning is generated by the vehicle horn (or BBUS if fitted) which will sound at 0.5 second intervals. The visual warning is provided by the hazard warning lamps which are operated at the same frequency as the horn.

The CCU will permit the alarm to be triggered up to three times in any armed period. Further triggering is prevented even if valid trigger input signals are received. The four most recent alarm triggers are stored in the CCU’s memory. TestBook can interrogate the CCU to establish the cause(s) of the alarm triggers.
