Partial Arming

Partial arming protects as much of the vehicle as possible if the alarm is armed with one or more panels left open. The partial arming also allows the alarm to be armed if a failure of a panel switch or wiring occurs.

When the alarm system enters a partially armed state, a mislock warning will sound the vehicle horn once for a short time to alert the driver to check for open panels and attempt arming again if necessary. Also there will be no alarm arm confirmation from the hazard warning lamps or a fast flash from the alarm LED. The CCU can enter four partially armed states as follows:

• Alarm armed with drivers door open If the drivers door is open when the alarm is armed, the CCU will suspend double locking of the panels and volumetric sensing and enter a partially armed state. All other functions of the alarm will be armed and the CCU will continue to monitor the open panel.
• Alarm armed with passenger door(s) open If a passenger door is open when the alarm is armed, the CCU will suspend double locking of the panels and volumetric sensing and enter a partially armed state. All other functions of the alarm will be armed and the CCU will continue to monitor the open panel.
• Alarm armed with the tail door open If the tail door is open when the alarm is armed, the CCU will suspend double locking of the panels and volumetric sensing and enter a partially armed state. All other functions of the alarm will be armed and the CCU will continue to monitor the open panel.
