Pressure Line, Replace  

Notice: 

This operation is described for an LHD vehicle with X 14 XE engine; for other versions, proceed analogously. Fluid leaks during removal of lines and hoses - place collecting basin underneath. Take care to ensure snag- and kink-free routing of hydraulic hoses and lines during installation; avoid chafing or contact with hot or rotating parts.  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Vehicles with diesel engine: Remove single box filter and lay aside - fuel system remains closed.  

Detach pressure line union bolts from steering gear and expandable hose.  

Remove pressure line (arrow) from fastening element.     Install, Connect    Insert pressure line in fastening element and install on steering gear and expandable hose with new gaskets - tightening torque 28 Nm/20.5 lbf. ft.

  Install, Connect   

Vehicles with diesel engine: Install single box filter on bulkhead - tightening torque 25 Nm/18.5 lbf. ft.
