Replace side airbag sensor - L35 / L48 / L69 / L70 > < Non-activated airbag passenger's side, replace

Replace side airbag (not deployed) (front seat)

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Wait 1 minute for airbag to deactivate
3.   Detach front seat belt securing panel (1)
4.   Detach seat belt from front seat
•   Unscrew bolt (2)
Object Number: 3446753 Size: DEFAULT


5.   Place seat in the most forward position
6.   Detach driver's seat, rear
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
7.   Remove front seat
Note:   Disconnect wiring harness plug.
•   Remove from the front guide

8.   Partly detach front seat backrest panelling
•   Detach panelling all round (I)
•   Release 2x clamp (II)
Object Number: 3446956 Size: DEFAULT


9.   Detach side airbag
•   Unscrew 3x bolt (1)
10.   Remove side airbag
•   Release and disconnect wiring harness plug
Object Number: 3446957 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

11.   Insert side airbag
•   Connect and latch wiring harness plug
Note:   Ensure correct wiring harness routing
12.   Fasten side airbag
•   Tighten 3x bolt 5 Nm
13.   Fasten front seat backrest panelling
•   Refit 2x clamp
•   Fasten panelling all round
14.   Install front seat
Note:   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Insert into front guide
15.   Attach front seat, rear
•   Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
16.   Return seat to its original position
17.   Attach seat belt at front seat
•   Tighten bolt 20 Nm
18.   Attach seat belt fastening panel
19.   Connect battery
20.   Program volatile memories
