Axis of symmetry

The axis of symmetry (3) - which is also known as the chassis longitudinal centre plane - is a fixed chassis line, running through the centre of the track width (2) of the front and rear axle.

It is used to align the vehicle symmetrically during an chassis alignment.

The track width (2) is the measure between the wheel contact points (1) of the left and right wheel on an axle.
