It is therefore essential that the initial impression is as positive as possible. Before starting to use a new vehicle, the Opel / Vauxhall partner must perform a Pre-delivery Inspection on the vehicle in accordance with the work plans defined in this publication. Authorised Opel / Vauxhall dealers and service companies are referred to by the generic term Opel / Vauxhall Partner in the service booklet. The checklists for Pre-delivery Inspection must be used to give the customer written confirmation that the specified work has been carried out properly and the vehicle is free of faults. Only new vehicles without defects may be handed over to the customers. Any defects must be eliminated before final delivery. Proper completion of the Pre-delivery Inspection will be confirmed for the customer by stamping and signing the "Pre-delivery Inspection and Vehicle Handover" form in the Service Booklet. Please perform all the work contained in the Pre-delivery Inspection conscientiously so that the new vehicle does not suffer a breakdown, for example because of loose battery cables. Please comply with the circular on product repair measures. Please ensure that corresponding new vehicles which are still at your premises are not supplied to the end user without the relevant examination. The work on the vehicle must be undertaken free of charge for the customer. You will find corresponding work instructions for these product repair measures and any further information in the relevant documents. To reach the work texts and technical data in TIS, click on the hand symbol next to the work stage required in the Standard Information section. Checklists for Pre-delivery Inspection The checklists are designed to enable the work to be carried out efficiently. It is absolutely imperative that you use the checklists. Vehicle-specific checklists can be found in the TIS application time allowances, group "S" (inspection, service, care and maintenance), sub-directory Pre-delivery Inspection - Technical Check. You will see a coloured ICON in the menu bar, designated "Inspection checklist display" or "Service checklist"; click on this to display the checklists provided you have selected the corresponding work operation number. factory directive You must use the vehicle-specific checklists from TIS to guarantee that the Pre-delivery Inspection is carried out according to the factory directive. If the work is not carried out according to the factory directive and damage is caused as a result, the Opel Partner shall be responsible for the resulting costs. Stored vehicles Demonstration vehicles (new vehicles) may require an engine oil change depending on the time spent in the showrooms.
We recommend using a similar procedure for used cars. If longer standing times occur: Tyres
Starter battery
Important: Before handing over to the customer, it is essential to ensure that the battery clamps are connected securely! After relatively long standing times Vehicle with air conditioning
In this way, damage to air conditioning compressors during a test drive can be avoided after relatively long standing times. Drain water from fuel filter
Fuel deficiency Petrol
Note: Lack of fuel is not a possible cause of pump failures. Diesel
Exception: DI-engines
Note: Please follow the relevant work instructions. SVS-light illuminated on the Z 19 DT, Z 19 DTH If the SVS-light is illuminated on the Z 19 DT, Z 19 DTH and no trouble code is stored, the fuel filter probably requires draining. General Notes
If the efficiency of the air conditioning system is deteriorating, it must be pointed out to the customer that the air cleaner (pollen filter) needs changing. It may be necessary to change the clean air filter (pollen filter) more often in countries and areas with a very high proportion of dust in the air. The filter should be changed at least once a year in these cases.
In countries and areas with high humidity and/or if low grade fuel is used, it can be necessary to drain the water from the diesel fuel filter more frequently. Note: When the vehicle has been driven until the tank is empty the vehicle can be started without going to an authorised dealer's garage.
Tyre Pressure Values and other Wheel and Tyre Information The tyre pressures and other information on wheels and tyres as of MY 2009 are given only on TIS in the publication "Wheels and tyres as of MY 2011" .
