Transmission Fluid Level Inspection

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Place a basin underneath.
3. Clean away all dirt and debris from transmission oil drain plug area.

4. Remove and DISCARD the transmission oil drain plug (1).

Installation Procedure


Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
1. Install the NEW transmission oil drain plug and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb ft) .
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
4. Clean away all dirt and debris from transmission oil filler plug area.

5. Remove and DISCARD the transmission oil filler plug (1).
6. Add transmission fluid. For transmission fluid capacity, refer to Manual Transmission Specifications .
7. Install the NEW transmission oil filler plug and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft) .
8. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
