Condition:

In production, vehicles intended for delivery to Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Sweden are fitted with self - adhesive, transparent protective foil in the left and right wheel cutouts.

 

General:

This Technical Information Bulletin describes the operation "Protective Foil, Rear Wheel Cutout, Remove and Install" for use in the event of damage to the protective foil.

 

 

Operation:

 

Protective Foil, Rear Wheel Cutout, Remove and Install

 

·     Adhesion of protective foil (1) at temperatures above 18 °C / 64 °F

 

·     Heat damaged protective foil with hot air dryer and remove

 

·     Clean adhesive surface with washer benzine or silicon remover, perform adhesion on clean, grease - free and dry surface

 

·     Remove thick backing paper from protective foil

 

·     Position protective foil at lower sill stamped edge (2), align corner of thin backing paper for protective foil to fold edge (3)

 

·     Attach protective foil without bubbles using plastic spatula

 

·     Remove thin backing paper, disposal according to national regulations
