Solenoid Valves

2/2 solenoid valves are used in the Vectra-B.

The valves are pulse actuated. In contrast to the Vectra-A/Cavalier, they are not flooded. They are actuated directly by the ABS control unit. Both systems are equipped with 8 solenoid valves. The 2/2 way valves are smaller than the previously used valves.

This results in:

-  faster response,

-  higher resistance to malfunction and

-  reduced weight.

The ABS 5/TC has 4 additional 2/2 solenoid valves for brake compensation when the traction control is active.
