Trailer Hitch, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove rear panelling - see operation "Rear Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A". Unbolt trailer hitch socket (arrows). Detach rear muffler. Remove cable ties (1). Unbolt trailer hitch from underbody (III and IV) remove trailer hitch - second mechanic required. To remove reinforcement plates also remove rear end panel lower panelling and inner rear quarter panelling - see operations "Inner Panelling - Lower Rear End Panel, Remove and Install" and "Rear Quarter Panel Inner Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "C". Unscrew 2 bolts from lower rear end panel and 1 centring bolt in each location (I and II). Remove reinforcement plates.

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Slide rubber rings on reinforcement plate pins. Install and tighten reinforcement plates and trailer hitch. Screw socket and fasten cable to trailer hitch with cable tie.  

Object Number: 616199 Size: DEFAULT  Tighten (Torque)   

Trailer hitch to underbody  

45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.  

Trailer hitch to rear end panel  

45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.  

 

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Attach rear muffler. Perform operational check on system. Install rear quarter panel inner panelling and lower rear end panel inner panelling - see operations "Rear Quarter Panel Inner Panelling, Remove and Install" and "Inner Panelling - Lower Rear End Panel, Remove and Install" in group "C".  

Attach rear panelling - see operation "Rear Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A".
