AFFECTED VEHICLES
DESCRIPTION:
The following symptoms may occur in freezing conditions:

Car can not be locked with remote.
^
Driver information Module (DIM) message indicating one of the doors being open although all doors are closed.
^
Interior light stays on although all doors are closed.
The cause is water ingress and freezing on the cam lever for the ajar-switch in the lock unit, resulting in incorrect function of the ajar-switch.
From breakpoints shown above, extra grease has been introduced around the ajar-switch lever mechanism to avoid water freezing on this switch.

It is not necessary to replace the door lock(s), the following service method has been developed for cars with symptoms as mentioned above.
