SIDE LIGHTS/NO. PLATE LIGHTS NOT WORKING

With the ignition key in the ON position, when the steering column switch unit ring nut is operated, the side lights or the no. plate lights do not work.

1	CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	All OK	Problems met	Operation
		Results of the tests
	Connect the Examiner to the diagnostic socket. check that there are no faults in the Body Computer the operation of the lights in active diagnosis.	Continue to Step 3	the operation of the lights in active diagnosis.	Continue according to the diagnostic equipment instructions
2	CHECK ON INDIVIDUAL LIGHTS	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check the condition of the individual bulbs and the bulb holder assembly	Continue to Step 3	Front bulb damaged	Replace the bulb Op. 5540B26
			Rear bulb damaged	Replace the bulb Op. Op. 5540A50 TAIL-LIGHT BULB (ONE), LH OR RH - REPLACE
			Front lights cluster faulty	Repair or replace front lights cluster Op. Op. 5540B76 FRONT LIGHT CLUSTER WITH FOGLAMP ONE LH OR RH R R WITH INTERFERING PARTS REMOVED
			Right rear light cluster faulty	Repair or replace the rear light cluster Op. Op. 5540A62 RIGHT OUTSIDE REAR LIGHT CLUSTER - R.R.
			Left rear light cluster faulty	Repair or replace the rear light cluster Op. Op. 5540A60 LEFT OUTSIDE REAR LIGHT CLUSTER - R.R.
			No. plate lights faulty	Renew or replace the no. plate lights Op. Op. 5540A94 L/H OR R/H NUMBER PLATE LIGHT (ONE) - R+R

	Check: connections between Body Computer and steering column switch unit; connections between ignition switch and Body Computer; connections between Body Computer and bulbs; Bulb earth See See E2010 SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS	Continue to Step 4	Connections broken	Restore the connections See See E2010 SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS
4	CHECK ON STEERING COLUMN SWITCH UNIT	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check that the steering column switch unit is working properly: in particular, the side lights switch:	Continue to Step 5	Stalk unit not working properly	Replace the stalk unit Op. Op. 5550A12 COMPLETE STALK UNIT - R+R FOR VERSIONS WITH AIR BAG
5	CHECK ON IGNITION SWITCH	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check that the side lights come on when the ignition key is turned in the opposite direction	Continue to Step 6	Ignition switch faulty	Renew or replace the ignition switch Op. Op. 5520A12 IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - R R FOR VERSIONS WITH AIR BAG
