SUN ROOF NOT WORKING

When the relevant control is operated, the sunroof does not move at all or moves jerkily.

0	PRELIMINARY CHECKS	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Carry out the procedure to initialise the sunroof electronic control unit and check whether the roof moves. See descriptions 7030 SUN ROOF/GLASS PANEL	End of diagnosis	The roof does not move.	Move on to Step 1.
1	CHECK THE SUNROOF ELECTRICAL SUPPLY CIRCUIT	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check the following, in order: sunroof supply fuse; sunroof supply relay; sunroof electronic control unit; connection between sunroof relay, fuse and electronic control unit See E3060 SUN ROOF correct power supply to the motor.	Move on to Step 2	1. Connections not correct	1. Repair the connections
			2. Component defective	2. Replace the component involved (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow).
			3. Electronic control unit not operating	3. Replace the electronic control unit Op. 7030B70 SUN ROOF MOVEMENT MOTOR - R+R
			4. The motor is not correctly supplied	4. Supply the motor directly from the battery bypassing the Body Computer (the cable terminals must be firmly secured to the battery poles). The battery must be charged to >= 13 Volt. IReplace the motor if it does not work Op. 7030B70 SUN ROOF MOVEMENT MOTOR - R+R
2	CHECK THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE SUNROOF OPERATION SELECTOR	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check the electrical control circuit of the sunroof operation selector.	Move on to Step 3	Control selector not operating	Replace the control selector Op. 7040E51 FRONT MODULAR COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY - R R FOR VERSIONS WITH SUN-ROOF
3	CHECK THE TORQUE REQUIRED TO MOVED THE SUNROOF	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Use a torque wrench to check the torque required to move the sunroof by hand (70 Nm max with 100 mm lever).	Move on to Step 4	1. Incorrect effort (more than 100 Nm)	1. Move on to Step 4
		Move on to Step 4	2. Incorrect effort (between 70 and 100 Nm)	2. Roll the roof by hand.
4	SUN ROOF MOTOR CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check the operation of the sun-roof operating motor: In particular, check: motor pinion status; control rack status.	Move on to Step 5	Faults in motor components	Replace the motor Op. 7030B70 SUN ROOF MOVEMENT MOTOR - R+R
5	CHECK FOR FOREIGN BODIES	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check for foreign bodies inside the sunroof mechanisms (or guides).	End of diagnosis	1. Foreign bodies present.	1. Remove the foreign bodies.
		End of diagnosis	2. No foreign bodies present	2. Replace the frame assembly Op. 7030B90 SLIDING ROOF FRAME - R R
