SPEED SIGNAL CHECK
| STEP | CHECK TO BE PERFORMED | RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Carry out a road test and drive the car at a constant speed of 30 km/h. Check that the vehicle speed reading on the diagnostic equipment is more or less the same as the speed shown on the instrument panel. The test can be considered over | Move on to Step 2 |
| 2 | Check that in the CAN information the ABS control unit is present and there are no faults such as Failed Proxi Alignment, Node not Present or Node not Programmed | Restore the correct connection/operation of the CAN |
| 3 | Go back to the workshop and turn off the engine. Disconnect the cable loom connector from radio connector A Turn the ignition key ON. Position the vehicle on a two column lift, raise it and turn the left front wheel slowly by hand. Check that the reading on the diagnostic equipment for the vehicle speed is less than 1 km/h. | Replace the radio |
| 4 | Turn the ignition key OFF. Disconnect the cable loom connector from electric steering control unit connector B Turn the ignition key ON. Raise the vehicle and turn the left front wheel slowly by hand. Check that the reading on the diagnostic equipment for the vehicle speed is less than 1 km/h. | Replace the electric steering control unit Op. 4110D40 ELECTRIC STEERING CONTROL ECU - R.R. |
| 5 | Turn the ignition key OFF. Disconnect the cable loom connector from engine management control unit connector A. Turn the ignition key ON. Set the diagnostic equipment to the voltmeter mode with an alternating voltage reading. Raise the vehicle and turn the left front wheel slowly by hand. Connect a (3 W) test lamp and the multimeter in parallel and check that the alternating voltage between pin 81 (wiring side) of the control unit See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the battery positive is less than 0 5 V. | Replace the engine management control unit |
| 6 | Turn the ignition key OFF. Disconnect the cable loom from the ABS control unit. Turn the ignition key ON. Check that the alternating voltage between pin 81 (wiring side) of the control unit See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the battery positive is less than 0.3 V. | Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the ABS control unit. |
| 7 | Turn the ignition key OFF. Check that the resistance between pin 81 (wiring side) of the control unit See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and the earth is more than 500 kOhm. | Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the ABS control unit. |
| 8 | Check that the resistance between pin 81 (wiring side) of the control unit See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and pin 20 of the control unit | is less than 5 Ohm. Repair or, if necessary, replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the ABS control unit. |
| 9 | Replace the ABS control unit |
| STEP | CHECK TO BE PERFORMED | RESOLUTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Carry out a road test and drive the car at a constant speed of 30 km/h. Check the reading on the diagnostic instrument for: - Left front wheel speed (ASX) - Right front wheel speed (ADX) - Left rear wheel speed (PSX) - Right rear wheel speed (PDX) and ensure they approximately coincide with the speed shown on the instrument panel. The test can be considered over | Move on to Step 2 |
| 2 | Carrying out a road test, check that error P0503 is present in the Bosch EDC16C39 CF4/EOBD CAN Diesel Injection control unit (EP 1.9 engine). Move on to Step 6 | Move on to Step 3 |
| 3 | Continue driving at a constant speed of 30 km/h. Check the reading on the diagnostic equipment in the Bosch 8 ESP ABS (EP) control unit for: - Left front wheel speed (ASX) - Right front wheel speed (ADX) - Left rear wheel speed (PSX) - Right rear wheel speed (PDX) is not between 15 and 45 km/h. Move on to Step 5 | Replace the ABS control unit Op. 3340A20 ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT - R+R and move on to Step 4 |
| 4 | Check the fault disappears. The test can be considered over | Repair the original ABS control unit and replace the engine management control unit |
| 5 | Replace the engine management control unit Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - .R The test can be considered over | |
| 6 | Go back to the workshop and turn off the engine. Turn the ignition key ON. With the engine off, lift the vehicle and turn the left front wheel slowly by hand. Check that the reading for the Left Front Wheel (ASX) speed in the Bosch 8 ESP (EP) ABS control unit is greater than 1 km/h. | Replace the ABS control unit Op. 3340A20 ABS ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT - R+R and move on to Step 4 |
| 7 | Replace the instrument panel Op. 5560B10 CONTROL PANEL - R+R and check the fault has disappeared. | Repair the original instrument panel and replace the engine control unit |
