When the selector lever is moved to the "L" position, the engine braking piston moves towards the right, and the lubricating oil drains out of the circuit. The spring (14) can push the coil (15) of the engine braking valve towards the left.
The primary pressure regulation valve is then pushed to the left by the engine braking actuation rod, without the help of the selector cam (which follows the depression of the accelerator pedal).
In the "L" position a minimal pedal pressure will cause a change in the transmission speed, since the engine braking valve immediately acts on the primary pressure regulating valve.
