Refitting

(Cont. Op. 1080B60)

• Raise the vehicle.
• Unscrew the lambda sensor and remove.

Refitting

• To obtain a good thermal coupling, apply the grease indicated to the thread of the lambda sensor

• Tighten the lambda sensor to correct torque

When tightening, do not put pressure on the lambda sensor as this could cause irreparable damage.

• Lower the vehicle.
• Connect the lambda sensor electrical connection and insert the cable in the mounting.

• Connect the negative (-) battery terminal

• Close the engine compartment.
• Remove the vehicle from the hoist.

1080B62 - CATALYTIC CONVERTER - R+R

Removal

• Position the vehicle on a hoist.
• Open the engine compartment.
• Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

• Raise the vehicle.
• Follow Op. 1076B50 Exhaust PIPE attachment to engine/manifold - R+R.

1. Loosen the exhaust silencer flange nut.
2. Take out the catalytic converter from the silencer and remove.

Note: To separate the catalytic converter pipe from the exhaust silencer knock it lightly with an aluminium or lead hammer on the catalytic converter front flange.

Refitting

• Insert the catalytic converter completely into the exhaust silencer.
• Tighten the exhaust silencer flange nut to correct torque
