K01 Rev counter does not work

With the key at MAR, the rev counter does not work, or works incorrectly

1 CHECK REV COUNTER ELECTRIC CIRCUIT

Check in sequence:
– connection between rev counter and engine ECU
– protection fuse (F22)
– rev counter earth
(Wiring diagram: E4020 “Rev counter”)

 All OK
Go to Step 2		 Faulty component Replace component (if it is a fuse, investigate the causes that may have triggered it)
Connections cut off Restore components
2 CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC TOOL

Connect diagnostic tool (Examiner or other tools) to the diagnostic socket. Check there are no faults in the engine ECU. In particular check whether the rev counter signal is correctly transmitted to the ECU

 All OK
Go to Step 3		 Signal not sent Check and, if required, replace the engine ECU

3 CHECK REV COUNTER

Check rev counter operation:
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION 5560

 All OK
Go to Step 4		 Device not working Replace rev counter
PROCEDURE OP. 5560B03
4 CHECK CORRECT OPERATION

Check the fault is no longer present

 All OK
End of test		 – –
