COMPRESSOR ACTIVATION
DESCRIPTION
The right button in the switch panel in the centre of the dashboard switches on the air cooling and dehumidifying circuit, activating the air conditioning compressor.
the above button enables the operation of the air cooling circuit; but the actual switching on of the compressor also depends on the intervention of:
- the frost thermostat sensor, near the evaporator, which stops the air conditioning being switched on if the temperature of the evaporator is too low;
- the 3 stage pressure switch, on the drier filter, which stops the engagement of the air conditioning if the pressure of the coolant fluid is too low or too high;
- the engine control unit which, according to the engine management logic, excludes the operation of the compressor, for example in the case of high engine temperatures or in the case of high engine loads (sharp acceleration).

The compressor supply circuit is controlled by a specific relay, located in the engine compartment near the i.e. control unit; the supply line for the relay is protected by a special shunt fuse, located in the engine compartment next to the MAXIFUSES.
The line energizing the relay is protected by the climate control shunt fuse, located under the dashboard on the climate control system unit and by a specific fuse and relay controlled by the ignition, located in the junction unit.
