DESCRIPTION
The button on the right of the switch control group in the centre of the dashboard controls the actiivation of the cooling circuit and air dehumidifying, activating the conditioner compressor.
This button enables the air cooling circuit; but the actual compressor activation also depends on the operation :
- of the antifrost thermostatic sensor,located near the evaporator, that locks conditioner operation if the evaporator temperatures are too low;
- of the 3-level pressure switch, on the dehydrating filter, that locks conditioner operation if the coolant pressure is either too low or too high;
- of the engine control unit that, according to the engine control logic, cuts out the compressor if, for example the engine temperature is high, or if there is a high engine load (sudden accelerations).
For further details see DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION: 5040.
The compressor power supply circuit is controlled by a relay, located in the engine compartment near the i.e.control unit; the relay power supply line is protected by a power supply fuse, located in the engine compartment next to the MAXI FUSES.
The relay energising line is protected by power supply fuse of the climate control, under the dashboard on the climate control group and by a fuse and power supply cut-off relay in the junction unit .
