Operation 1092A10 · Crankshaft pulley and idle pulleys

1.2 16v

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 1092B60 alternator drive belt - r + r

1. Undo retaining bolts (1a) and remove engine crankshaft pulley (1b).

1.4 16v

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 1092B60 alternator drive belt - r + r

1. Undo retaining bolts (1a) and remove engine crankshaft pulley (1b).

1.6 16v

Removing

Place the vehicle on a ramp.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R.

- 1092B50 alternator/air conditioner compressor drive belt - adjust tension

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the lower flywheel shield (1b).

2. Fit the flywheel locking tool (2a) and lock it with the bolt (2b).

2.4 20v

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Open the boot, remove the cover on the left side and disconnect the battery's negative lead.

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 1092D10 air conditioner compressor drive belt - r + r

- 1092B68 belt from a/c compressor to alternator drive r + r

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the crankshaft pulley (1b).

1.9 JTD 16v

Removing

Place the car on a lift.

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R..

Before removing the single auxiliary drivebelt, it is advisable to loosen the crankshaft pulley bolts.

- 1092G10 single engine belt r r.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the crankshaft pulley (1b).

1.2 16v

Refitting

Fit pulley and tighten retaining bolts to torque.

- 1092B60 alternator drive belt - r + r

- 1092B64 alternator drive belt - adjust tension

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

1.4 16v

Refitting

Fit pulley and tighten retaining bolts to torque.

- 1092B60 alternator drive belt - r + r

- 1092B64 alternator drive belt - adjust tension

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.6 16v

1. Undo the nut (1a) and remove the crankshaft pulley (1b).

2.4 20v

Refitting

Place the crankshaft pulley back in its housing and secure it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

- 1092B68 belt from a/c compressor to alternator drive r + r

- 1092D10 air conditioner compressor drive belt - r + r

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Lower the vehicle on the lift.

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r.

Connect the battery negative terminal lead.

- 5530B56 BATTERY DRIP TRAY COVER - R.R.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

1.9 JTD 16v

Refitting

Fit the crankshaft pulley and fix it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

- 1092G10 single engine belt r r.

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R..

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

- 4450B04 right front wheel r r.

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.6 16v

Refitting

Place the crankshaft pulley back in its housing and secure it tightening the nut to the recommended torque.

Remove the flywheel lock.

Place the lower flywheel shield back in its housing and secure it using the bolts.

- 1092B50 alternator/air conditioner compressor drive belt - adjust tension

- 1092B54 alternator/water pump drive belt - adjust tension

- 4450B10 Front WHEEL (one) - R.R.

- 7055B42 Additional FRONT WHEEL ARCH (one), left or right - R.R.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Remove the car from the ramp.
