GEARBOX - ’K’ SERIES

Service repair no - 37.20.02/99

Remove

  1. Drain lubricating fluid from gearbox. See MAINTENANCE.
  2. Drain lubricating fluid from IRD unit. See MAINTENANCE.
  3. Remove LH drive shaft. See DRIVE SHAFTS, Repairs.
Gearbox - ’k’ series – Remove LH drive shaft. See DRIVE SHAFTS, Repairs.
  1. Remove 3 screws from LH splash shield
  2. Remove splash shield.
  3. Remove exhaust front pipe. See MANIFOLD & EXHAUST SYSTEMS, Repairs.
  4. Remove RH road wheel.
Gearbox - ’k’ series – Remove RH road wheel.
  1. Remove clip from RH front brake hose and release hose from bracket.
  2. Remove 2 nuts and bolts securing hub to damper.
  3. Release hub from damper.
  4. Remove starter motor. See ELECTRICAL, Repairs.
  5. Remove battery carrier. See ELECTRICAL, Repairs.
Gearbox - ’k’ series – Remove battery carrier. See ELECTRICAL, Repairs.
  1. Disconnect multiplug from 1st gear sensor.
  2. Disconnect reverse lamp switch wires.
  3. Remove 3 bolts securing clutch slave cylinder bracket.
  4. Position bracket and earth lead aside.
