DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION 86-8-77

LCD Screens
An LCD screen is installed in the back of each front seat. The LCD screens are mounted in a frame, which
incorporates a tilt mechanism to allow adjustment of the viewing angle. Pushing the bottom edge of the screen
releases a latch and tilts the screen. Pushing the screen back into the frame engages the latch to retain the screen in
the stowed position. An ambient light sensor, in the bottom left edge of the screen, allows the system to automatically
adjust the brightness of the screen to compensate for changes in ambient light levels.

The buttons along the bottom edge of the screen provide the following adjustments:

S - Selector Button
The selector button selects the linked audio and video source displayed on the screen. VCR1 for the DVD and VCR2
for the TV (where fitted).

V - Video Button
The video button selects only the video source displayed on the screen. VCR1 for the DVD and VCR2 for the TV
(where fitted).

Uncoupling the Video Source Selection.

Pressing and holding the video button for more than approximately 2 seconds locks the video source selection. Now
the video source can only be switched by the video button, and not the selector button. To return to the previous state
the video button must be pressed and held again until the word “selector” is displayed on the screen in white text.

If the video button is momentarily pressed the word “selector” is now displayed in red text. This has disabled the video
button, which must be pressed and held to reverse this condition:

l

“selector” displayed in white text, video selection by video button only.

l

“selector” displayed in red text, video selection by selector button only.
