FAULT FINDING
NOTE: Fault finding procedures must be carried out in the order in which they appear in the text.
CAUTION: When the ignition is switched ON, the PGM-Fi malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) should illuminate and extinguish after 3 seconds. If the lamp stays ON or flashes, check the PGM-Fi system.
- Check following for correct operation: Selector indicator lamps Lock-up control solenoid valves - check that they can be heard to operate
NOTE: If lock-up control solenoid valves can be heard to operate but a fault is suspected, check the winding resistance of the solenoids.
Lock-up control solenoid valves - check winding resistance
- Disconnect multiplug from harness.
- Measure resistance between terminals 1 (solenoid valve A) and terminal 2 (solenoid valve B) and earth: Resistance = 14.1 to 15.5 Ohms at 25°C
- If resistance of either winding is not as specified, replace solenoid valve assembly.
- On completion of test, connect multiplug.
