Repairing selector forks Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

t	pressure tool -3290/1-

t	Assembly tool -3301-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	pressure tool -VW 431-

t	Spacer bush -VW 472/2-

t  Release lever -80-200-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Drift -10-508-

t  Tensioning tool -2070-

Identification of selector segments and selector fork for 5th and 6th gear with selector segments Gap -a- 1 -  1st/2nd gear selection group = 10.2 mm 2 -  3rd/4th gear selection group = 78.6 mm 3 -  Prongs of 5th/6th gear with gear selection = 79.5 mm.

Selector fork for 1st and 2nd gears with selector segments Dimension -a- = 75 mm

Removing lock washer –  Clamp selector fork in vice with protective jaw covers -B-. –  Separate the washer -A- by levering in -direction of arrow-.

Installing lock washer –  Press lock washer into groove of selector segment using socket and spinner handle.   Note The gear selection group should still be free to rotate slightly after fitting the fastening ring A  -  Spinner handle with 10 mm socket B  -  Protective jaw covers

Removing angular contact ball bearing   Note Do not bend selector forks when removing and installing the ball bearing.

Pressing inner race -A- of angular contact ball bearing into outer race Inner race must engage in outer race.

Pulling angular contact ball bearing into selector fork (insert onto stop) Depression in thrust piece -3290/1- faces ball bearing.
