Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Terminal crimper -VW 412-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Inlay socket -40-21-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  Support bridge -2011-
t  -1-Interior extractor -Kukko 21/5-
t  -4-Support bracket -Kukko 22/2-
t  Hot air blower -V.A.G 1416-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
Release the roller bearing socket from the gearbox casing cover
A  - Internal remover 28... 37 mm, e.g. -Kukko 21/5-
B  - Counter-support, e.g. -Kukko 22/1-

Insert the roller bearing socket on the gearbox casing cover
–  Use the hot air blower -V.A.G 1416- and heat the gearbox casing cover in the region where the bearings are seated to a temperature of approx. 100 °C.
–  Place the roller bearings in the previously heated casing and press with the workshop press until the heat is transferred.
  Note
The roller bearings must be fitted in the cover as far as possible. Do not tighten with the countersunk bolts through the support plate.
