Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- or vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system -VAS 5051-
  Note
t  Before disconnecting the battery determine the code of radio sets fitted with anti-theft coding.
t  When the battery is connected perform the following operations depending on the vehicle equipment: coding of radio sets with anti-theft coding, re-set clock, initialise power windows → BookletFabia
Remove steering lock:
–  Removing trim panel for steering column switch → Body Work → Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove steering-column control → Electrical System → Rep. gr.94.
–  Remove lock cylinder and ignition starter switch → Electrical System → Rep. gr.94.
   
–  Remove pull-off screws -arrows- (bore out).
–  Take out steering lock.
Install steering lock:
–  Insert the steering lock and tighten with new pull-off screws.
–  Tighten pull-off screws until the head shears off.
–  Install lock cylinder and ignition starter switch → Electrical System → Rep. gr.94.
Further installation occurs in reverse order.
–  Performing automatic test sequence → Chapter
If faults are stored in the fault memory:
–  Remove fault → Chapter
–  Erasing fault memory → Chapter
