Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Cleaning solution -D 009 401 04-
t  Technical petrol
t  Shampoo solution (98 % water, 2 % shampoo)
t  Hot air blower, e.g. -V.A.G 1416-
Removing
–  Removing sill trim → Chapter.
–  Heat up protective foil with hot-air blower at an air temperature of max. 100°C.
–  Remove foil in a sharp angle through extensive pulling.
–  Clean vehicle surface with technical petrol.
Install
–  Clean point for sticking the foil with cleaning solution -D 009 401 04-.
–  Spray body with shampoo solution.
   
–  Remove the base paper from the protective foil -1-.
–  Spray protective foil -1- with shampoo solution.
–  Stick protective foil -1- onto the body, pay attention to the following points:
Dimension -a- = 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (from top marking)
Dimension -b- = 4 ± 0.5 mm (from body edge)
Dimension -c- = 3 ± 0.5 mm (from body edge)
–  Smoothen foil if necessary (e.g. with spatula).
–  Install sill trim → Chapter.
  Note
Do not drive into the carwash within 48 hours after sticking on the foils.
Proceed in the same manner on the other vehicle side.
