DTC B1480 02: Battery Rundown Protection
Circuit Short to Ground |
Circuit/System Description
With the Ignition OFF, the body control module monitors the
battery voltage to make sure that the voltage stays within the
proper range. If the battery voltage is to low the BCM cuts several
electrical circuits depending on the charging condition of the
battery.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition is OFF.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The BCM detects a low battery voltage.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The BCM cuts several electrical circuits depending on the
charging condition of the battery.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The condition for setting the DTC is not longer present.

Circuit/System Verification
1. |
Engine running, accessories
OFF, measure and record the battery voltage at the battery
terminals. The voltage must be between 12.6-15.0 V. |
2. |
Ignition OFF, measure and
record the battery voltage at the battery terminals. The voltage
must be between 12.45-12.75 V. |
3. |
Clear DTCs and verify the DTC
B1480 does not reset. |

If the DTC resets, replace the K9 Body Control
Module. |

Perform the
Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic
procedure.
