Steering Gear, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616201 Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

For vehicles with airbag: turn steering wheel to straight-ahead position and allow steering lock to engage.  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove front axle body - see operation "Front Axle Body, Remove and Install" in group "E".  

Unscrew bolts (1) from rear engine damping block and remove engine damping block. Unscrew bolts (2) from retaining brackets and remove steering gear with retaining brackets from front axle body.  

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Install steering gear on front axle body - tightening torque 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft. Install rear engine damping block on front axle body - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.  

Object Number: 2391875 Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Install front axle body - see operation "Front Axle Body, Remove and Install" in group "E".  

Object Number: 616196 Size: DEFAULT  Inspect   

Check camber, and toe-in, adjust if necessary - see operation "Camber, Caster and Toe-in, Check" in group "E".
