FUEL RESERVE WARNING LIGHT ON (WITH HIGHER LEVEL)
The Engine Control Node sends a message via the C-CAN to the Body Computer, which makes it available via the B-CAN, to the Instrument Panel node.
Faults in the C-CAN will turn on the warning lights of the control units that communicate on this network. Verification of the CAN Information is intended to detect this situation
| 0 | PRELIMINARY CHECKS | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Check that the fuel level gauge reading is not on reserve | Move on to Step 1 | Fuel level gauge on reserve | Top up the fuel to the correct level. | |
| 1 | CHECKS USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
Connect the Examiner diagnostic instrument and check CAN information for the absence of:
| Move on to Step 6 | 1. Impossible to communicate with the Body Computer | 1. Move on to Step 3 | |
| 2. Instrument Panel Node inactive and/or with error | 2. Move on to Step 5 | |||
| 3. Fault on CAN network | 3. Move on to Step 10 | |||
| 2 | CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
| Use an Examiner to asses the possibility of connection to the Body Computer Node, the lack of errors and the presence of parameters. | Move on to Step 3 | 1. Impossible to connect to the Body Computer control unit. | 1. Move on to Step 3 | |
| 2. Presence of errors | 2. Continue as described by the diagnostic equipment | |||
| 3 | ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY CHECK | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
| Check that the power supply to the Body Computer Node and the wiring between the nodes are correct. Check in particular that each individual pin is correctly connected | Move on to Step 4 | 1. Fault in positive electrical supply and/or earth | 1. Replace defective component (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow) | |
| 2. Electrical connections not operational | 2. Restore the damaged wiring to correct operation. | |||
| 4 | CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
| Use an Examiner to check the possibility of connection to the Body Computer Node | Move on to Step 5 | Impossible to connect to the Body Computer. | Replace Body Computer | |
| 5 | CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
| Using an Examiner check, in Instrument Panel mode, that there are no errors and that the parameters are present | Move on to Step 8 | 1. System fault | 1. Move on to Step 6 | |
| 2. Fault on CAN network | 2. Move on to Step 8 | |||
| 3. Presence of errors. | 3. Continue as described by the diagnostic equipment | |||
| 6 | ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY CHECK | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
Check the electricity supply to the node is correct. Check the wiring between the Body Computer and the Instrument Panel. In particular, check that each individual pin is properly connected | Move on to Step 7 | 1. Fault in positive electrical supply and/or earth | 1. Replace defective component (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow) | |
| 2. Electrical connections not operational | 2. Restore the damaged wiring to correct operation. | |||
| 7 | CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT | ALL OK | PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED | ACTION |
| Using an Examiner check, in Instrument Panel mode, that there are no errors and that the parameters are present | Move on to Step 8 | Fault persists | Replace the Auxiliary Instrument Panel Op. 5560C51 COMBINED ANALOGUE CONTROL PANEL - R+R OR REPLACE | |
