1.2 8v

Removing

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Partly raise the lift.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel filler pipe fitting to the bodyshell.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel vapour filter mounting bracket.

3. Gently lower the fuel filler pipe (3a) and remove the gasket (3b).

Refitting

Fit a new gasket.

Tighten bolts securing the fuel filler fitting mounting bracket.

Secure the fuel filler fitting to the bodyshell with the securing bolts.

Lower the lift.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

1.4 8v, 1.6 16v

Removing

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Partly raise the lift.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel filler to the bodyshell.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel vapour filter mounting bracket.

3. Gently lower the fuel filler pipe (3a) and remove the gasket (3b).

Refitting

Fit a new gasket.

Tighten bolts securing the fuel filler fitting mounting bracket.

Fasten the fuel filler to the bodyshell using the fixing bolts.

Lower the ramp.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

1.9 DIESEL

Removing

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Partly raise the lift.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel filler pipe fitting to the bodyshell.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the fuel vapour filter mounting bracket.

3. Gently lower the fuel filler pipe (3a) and remove the gasket (3b).

Refitting

Fit a new gasket.

Tighten bolts securing the fuel filler fitting mounting bracket.

Secure the fuel filler fitting to the bodyshell with the securing bolts.

Lower the lift.

Remove the vehicle from the ramp.

1.3 JTD 16V, 1.9 JTD 8V

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the rigid section of the fuel filler pipe to the bodyshell.

2. Lower the fuel filler pipe (2a) as necessary, then remove the gasket (2b).

Refitting

Refit the fuel filler pipe housing seal.

Place the fuel filler pipe back in its housing and secure it using the bolts.

Remove the car from the ramps.
