Turn crankshaft in its direction of rotation and lock using tool 1860863000. Take reading off dial gauge: Piston stroke: 0.90 mm If this value is not obtained, adjust as follows.

Adjusting pump advance

Keeping the crankshaft locked in position, loose the three front nuts (arrowed, one is not visible) and the rear injection pump retaining bolt (arrowed) using tool 1850160000.

Turn pump slowly until specified reading appears on dial gauge: Piston stroke: 0.90 mm Tighten pump retaining bolts to the specified torque. Remove tool 1865090000, refit pipes, injection pump plug and oil vapour separator.
