- Lower the car.

- Remove the rocker carrier axle with supports, rockers and hydraulic tappets.
- Take out the rocker control rods.
- Unscrew the screws (1a) and remove the complete cylinder head (1b).
- Remove the cylinder head gasket.
Refitting
Carefully clean the contact surfaces of the gasket on the crank case and the cylinder head.
- Fit a new cylinder head gasket on the crank case.
The new gasket must have the same thickness as the one removed.
Note: Fit the gasket on the crank case with the caption "TOP" toward the operator. The cylinder head gasket is the ASTADUR type, which due to the material it is made of, undergoes a polymerizing process during engine operation that considerably hardens it. With this type of gasket it is no longer necessary to tighten the cylinder head fastening screws after 1,000 ~ 1,500 Km driving.
In order that the gasket polymerizing takes place it is necessary to:
- keep the gasket sealed in its nylon envelope
- remove it from its wrapping just before assembly
- avoid lubrication or dirtying the gasket with oil
- carefully clean the cylinder head and engine crank case surfaces.
