3 CHECK COMPRESSOR OPERATION
With the diagnostic tool (Examiner or other tool) run the compressor relay operation active test (in engine management environment)		 All OK
Go to Step 4		 Faulty compressor relay operation Replace the relay or restore the connection between engine ECU and relay
4 CHECK COMPRESSOR OPERATION CIRCUIT
Check in sequence:
– climate control system protection fuses
– compressor operation relay
– three-level pressure switch (see 5040B Test A)
– frost sensor
– connection between relay and compressor joint
– connection between fuse and relay
– connection between climate control switch and relay via the frost sensor, three-level pressure switch and engine ECU
(Wiring diagram: E6021 "compressor")		 All OK
Go to Step 5		 Incorrect connections Restore connections
Faulty component Replace component (if it is a fuse, investigate the causes which may have triggered it)
5 CHECK COMPRESSOR ELECTROMAGNETIC JOINT
Check operation of the electromagnetic compressor. In particular, check correct connection to earth		 All OK
Go to Step 7		 Faulty compressor electromagnetic joint Replace the compressor PROCEDURE OP. 5040A20 with electromagnetic joint
6 CHECK SYSTEM PRESSURE
After recharging the system (PROCEDURE OP. 5040A10), check system pressure again: TESTS: 5040 Test B		 All OK
Go to Step 7		 High pressure does not rise or low pressure falls too much: leakage in the circuit Find the leakages PROCEDURE OP. 5040A14
High pressure keeps rising: the compressor cooling fan does not cut in. Go to Step 7
NOTE The fault could be associated to "engine overheating" (also see table D30)
