I06 High beam headlights do not work

Operating the lever of the steering column lever unit, with the high beam headlights are on (stable position) or in “flashing” mode, the high beam headlights do not work.

1 CHECK SINGLE LIGHTS Check that single bulbs and respective light cluster are intact All OK
Go to Step 2		 Problems found Intervention
Bulbs damaged Replace bulbs
Faulty light cluster Restore or replace front light cluster
PROCEDURE OP. 5540B10
2 CHECK HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS ELECTRIC CIRCUIT Check in sequence:
– High beam headlight fuses, right (F9) and left (F8)
– connections between steering column lever unit and junction unit
– connections between junction unit and bulbs
– bulb earth
(Wiring diagram E2012 “High beam headlights”)		 All OK
Go to Step 3		 Problems found Intervention
Faulty component Replace component (if it is a fuse investigate the cause that may have triggered it)
Connections cut off Restore connections
3 CHECK STEERING COLUMN LEVER UNIT Check correct operation of steering column lever unit (in particular, the light switch): DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION 5550A All OK
Go to Step 4		 Problems found
steering column lever unit does not work correctly		 Intervention
Replace steering column lever unit
PROCEDURE OP. 5550A10
(PROCEDURE OP. 5550A12 versions with airbag)
4 CHECK CORRECT OPERATION Check the fault is no longer present All OK
End of test		 Problems found
