FUEL TANK - ’L’ SERIES

Service repair no - 19.55.01

Remove

  1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
  2. Raise rear of vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

  1. Drain fuel tank. See this section.

  1. Remove bolt securing handbrake cable to ’H’ frame LH mounting.
  2. Release handbrake cable from ’H’ frame mounting.
Fuel tank - ’l’ series – Release handbrake cable from ’H’ frame mounting.
  1. Remove screw securing filler neck to body.
  2. Release clip and disconnect breather hose from filler neck.
  3. Loosen clip and disconnect filler hose from filler neck.
Fuel tank - ’l’ series – Loosen clip and disconnect filler hose from filler neck.
  1. Release clip and disconnect fuel feed hose from fuel feed pipe.
  2. Release clip and disconnect fuel return hose from fuel return pipe.
  3. Fit wooden block to jack and position jack to support fuel tank.
Fuel tank - ’l’ series – Fit wooden block to jack and position jack to support fuel tank.
  1. Loosen 2 fuel tank strap locknuts and remove 2 tank strap nuts.
  2. Release fuel tank straps from vehicle body.
  3. Using assistance, release fuel tank from body and lower.
