FRONT EXHAUST SILENCER - R + R

Operation 1076B30 · EXHAUST PIPES AND SILENCERS

1.4 16v

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

1. Undo the nuts fixing the front exhaust silencer to the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the front exhaust silencer flexible mounting to the bodyshell.

3. Disconnect the rear flexible mounting for the front exhaust silencer.

4. Loosen the collar securing the front exhaust silencer to the rear exhaust silencer.

5. Remove the front exhaust silencer complete with gasket.

Refitting

- Place the front exhaust silencer in position and tighten the nut for the collar securing it to the rear exhaust silencer to the recommended torque.

- Connect the rear flexible mounting for the front exhaust silencer.

- Tighten the bolts fixing the front exhaust silencer flexible mounting to the bodyshell to the recommended torque.

- Fit a new gasket and tighten the nuts fixing the front exhaust silencer to the exhaust silencer and catalytic converter to the recommended torque.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.4 16v TJet

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

1. Undo the nuts and disconnect the exhaust pipe front section from the front silencer.

- Remove the gasket.

2. Loosen collar (2a), undo flexible mountings (2b) and remove front exhaust silencer (2c).

Refitting

- Place the front exhaust silencer in its housing and support it with the flexible mountings.

- Tighten the nut of the collar securing the front exhaust silencer to the rear silencer, to the specified torque.

- Fit a new seal, connect the the exhaust pipe front section to the front silencer and tighten the nuts to the recommended torque.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.
