1. Working from inside the vehicle, unscrew the nuts securing the sun roof frame (two front and two rear).

1. Use a Fein vibrating cutter (1a) and Fein cutting blade (1b) to cut the sealant (1c) and cut the second sealant strip (1d) on the roof (1e), still working from the rear.

1. Use a Fein vibrating cutter (1a) and suitable Fein cutting blade (1b) to cut the sealant (1c) along the sliding roof frame (1d).

- Repeat this operation on both sides of the vehicle.

1. Working from inside the car and using a Fein vibrating cutter and Fein cutting blade 63502103010, cut and remove the spoiler fastening area to free up the working area.

2. Working from inside the vehicle, cut the first section of seaslant (2a), still from the rear with the help of a second mechanic, lift up the sliding roof frame, cut the sealant (2b) and remove the actual frame (2c).

Refitting

1. Use appropriate equipment to cut and level the sealant strip to leave a thickness between 0.25 and 1 mm in the roof housing compartment.

The thickness of the sealant remaining in the roof housing will act as a support for the new bonding.

Thoroughly clean the roof housing compartment on the body with compressed air and degrease thoroughly with heptane

When bonding, 60 minutes after the bead of sealant has been cut and levelled, the surface of the actual sealant must be treated using the special activating product and it is necessary to wait for 15 minutes before fitting the windscreen to allow the primer thinner to evaporate.

2. Apply the glass adhesion promoter (primer) (2b) to the site of the old sealant strip using the wick (2a) supplied in the Kit.

- Clean the new roof using heptane.

- Use a pneumatic gun to extrude a sealant strip to the site of the old strip in the roof compartment.

1. Using four suction pads (1a), lift up the roof (1b) and place it correctly in position on the vehicle with the help of the special pins (1c).

2. Tighten the front and rear fixing nuts.

1. Compress the roof (1c) using the belts (1a) and suction pads (1b).

The vehicle should not be handed back for at least 24 hours after the bonding of the roof.

Refer to the sealant manufacturer''s instructions for the drying times.

- Remove the locating pins.
