Removing

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Op. 1048A10 AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY - R.R.

Op. 1016A20 SINGLE TAPPET COVER -R.R AND REPLACE GASKET

Op. 1036B32 CAMSHAFT SEAL SUPPORT WITH IGNITION COIL R + R INCLUDING SEAL REPLACEMENT

Op. 1032D12 TIMING SYSTEM PROTECTIVE COVER(S) - R + R

Op. 4450B04 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL - R.R.

Op. 7055B54 PROTECTION/GUARD UNDER ENGINE - R.R.

Op. 1092B60 ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT - R + R

Op. 1092A10 CRANKSHAFT PULLEY - R + R

Op. 1032B10 TOOTHED TIMING BELT - R + R FOR TIMING ADJUSTMENT OR REPLACEMENT

Op. 1032B40 TOOTHED DRIVEN PULLEY (ONE) - R + R WITH TIMING BELT REMOVED

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the oil supply pipe (1b) to the camshaft covers.

2. Unscrew bolts (2a) and remove camshaft sealing covers (2b), (2c) and (2d).

3. Remove the camshaft.

Refitting

1. Position the camshaft.

2. Position sealing covers (2a) and oil delivery pipe (2b).

3. Tighten the bolts fixing the sealing covers to torque.

4. Use tool (4a) to fit a new oil seal (4b) in its seat on the front cover.

Connect the negative battery terminal.

Remove the vehicle from the lift.

Removing

Op. 7055B54 PROTECTION/GUARD UNDER ENGINE - R.R.

Op. 4450B04 RIGHT FRONT WHEEL - R.R.

Op. 1092G10 SINGLE ENGINE BELT - R.R.

Op. 1032D12 TIMING SYSTEM PROTECTIVE COVER(S) - R + R

Op. 1032B10 TOOTHED TIMING BELT - R + R FOR TIMING ADJUSTMENT OR REPLACEMENT

Op. 1032B40 TOOTHED DRIVEN PULLEY (ONE) - R + R WITH TIMING BELT REMOVED

Op. 3330D30 VACUUM PUMP - R+R

1. Disconnect the engine oil vapour recovery pipe from the cam cover.

2. Disconnect the connection sleeve to the filter casing from the cover.

3. Undo the bolts fixing the exhaust gas supply pipe from the EGR valve.

4. Undo the retaining bolts.

5. Remove the cam cover with build-in vapour intake ducts.

Recover the underlying gasket.

1. Undo the fixing bolt (1a) and remove the camshaft bearings lubrication pipe (1b).

2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the camshaft caps (2b).

3. Remove the camshaft (3a) complete with oil seal (3b).

Refitting

Fit the camshaft in the cylinder head.

Tighten the bolts fixing the caps.

Position the lubrication pipe and fasten it tightening the fixing bolts.

Tighten the bolts fixing the caps to torque.

1. Fit the new oil seal (1b) on the camshaft using the tool (1a).

Fit a new gasket on the cam cover.

Fit the cam cover with built-in intake ducts and tighten the bolts to torque.

Connect the engine oil vapour pipes to the cam cover.

Connect the connection sleeve to the filter casing to the cover.

Tighten the bolts fixing the exhaust gas supply pipe to the EGR valve to torque.

Op. 1016A26 CAM COVER WITH BUILT IN OIL VAPOUR SEPARATOR - R.R..

1. Unscrew bolts (1a), then remove camshaft journal lubrication pipe (1b) and camshaft caps (1c).

2. Remove the camshaft (2a) complete with oil seal (2b) and separate them at the bench.

Refitting

1. Place the camshaft in its housing.

2. Refit camshaft caps (2a) and pipe (2b) lubricating the camshaft journalss, then tighten bolts (2c) to the specified torque.

1. Fit the a new crankshaft front oil seal (1a) using the tool (1b).

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the camshaft caps (1b).

2. Remove the camshaft.

3. Remove the camshaft oil seal.

Refitting

- Refit the camshaft in its seat and fit a new oil seal.

- Place the camshaft caps in their housings and secure them tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.
