REVERSING LIGHTS NOT WORKING

The reversing lights do not come on when reverse is engaged with the key ON.

STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
1INDIVIDUAL LIGHT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check condition of the individual bulbs and associated bulb holder unitMove on to Step1. Bulbs damaged

1. Change the bulbs

Op. 5540A74 BULB OF A SIDELIGHT OR FOG LAMP OR REVERSING LIGHT IN A TAIL-LIGHT, LH OR RH R R

2. Bulb holder unit fault

2. Repair or replace the tail-light

Op. 5540A44 L/H OR R/H TAIL LIGHT (ONE) - R+R

2REVERSING LIGHT ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check the following, in order:

  • Reversing light fuse;
  • onnections between battery, ignition switch, underfacia junction unit and reversing light switch;
  • connections betwee reversing light switch and bulbs;
  • bulb earth
Move on to Step1. Fuse blown1. Change the fuse (find out what caused it to blow)
2. Connections interrupted

2. Repair the connections

3. Bulb earth defective

3. Repair the earth contact

Check the reversing light switch is properly fastened and operationalMove on to StepReversing light switch operationRepair or replace the reversing light switch

Check that the fault is no longer present
