SIDE LIGHTS NOT WORKING

when the stalk switch wheel is operated with the key ON, the main beams do not work

STEPOPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUTTEST RESULTS
1INDIVIDUAL BULB CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the condition of the bulbs and associated bulb holder;Move on to Step1. Front bulbs damaged1. Change the bulbs
2. Rear bulbs damaged2. Change the bulbs
3. Tail-light fault3. Repair or change the tail-light
4. Front light cluster fault4. Repair or replace front light cluster
2SIDE LIGHT ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check the following, in order:

  • side light fuses;
  • connections between battery, engine bay control unit, ignition switch, stalk unit and underfacia junction unit;
  • connections between underfacia junction unit and bulbs;
  • bulb earth
Move on to Step1. Component defective1. Replace defective component (in the case of a fuse, find out what caused it to blow).

2. Repair the connections

3STEERING COLUMN SWITCH UNIT CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check that a battery voltage output is generated to supply the side lights when the stalk switch wheel is operated with the key on.Move on to StepStalk unit not working properly

Replace the steering column switch unit

4IGNITION SWITCH CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION

Check that a battery voltage is generated when the ignition key is turned on and more specifically to the stalk switch that supplies the side lights

Move on to StepIgnition switch fault

Repair or replace the ignition switch

Check that a battery voltage output is generated from the underfacia junction unit to activate the bulbs when the stalk switch wheel is operated with the key on
