CLIMATE CONTROL NOT COOLING

The fan works properly and sends air into the interior compartment in accordance with set flow patterns, but this air remains at the external temperature and is not cooled.

Cooling circuit activation enablement is controlled by the climate control and engine management control units. So if the air conditioning does not cool under particular conditions, this is correct.

Results of the tests
0PRELIMINARY CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Connect the climate control system to the repressurizing equipment and check the system pressure See Test 5040B CHECK ON OPERATION OF AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (PRESSURES)Continue to Step 1Pressure not correctEliminate leaks and top up climate control system
1CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems metOperation
Connect the Examiner and check for errors in the climate control system node at the air mixing motors:Continue to Step 3Error in air mixing motorsContinue to Step 2
2ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check continuity/insulation of the electrical connection for the air mixing motor(s)Continue to Step 8Electrical conection broken or not insulated.Restore continuity/insulation of electrical connection See E6021 COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT
3CHECK WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems metOperation

Keep the Examiner connected and check:

  • that there are no errors in the engine management node
  • in active diagnostics mode, check compressor activation relay is working properly via active diagnosis. Ensure that the compressor electromagnetic coupling comes on at the same time.
  • the correct operation of the solar sensor See Test 5040DC Check on operation of solar sensor
Continue to Step 6The relay is not activated and the coupling is not activated.Continue to Step 4
The relay is activated but the coupling is not activated.Continue to Step 5
Solar sensor defectiveReplace the sensor
4ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check continuity/insulation of compressor activation relay electrical circuit See E6021 COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENTContinue to Step 5Electrical connections broken or not insulatedRestore electrical connection continuity/insulation.
Compressor engagement relay faultyChange compressor activation relay
5ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check continuity/insulation of compressor power electrical circuit See E6021 COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENTContinue to Step 6Electrical connections broken or not insulatedRestore electrical connection continuity/insulation.
Electromagnetic coupling fault.Replace the compressor complete with coupling Op. 5040A20
6CHECKING LINKAGEAll OKProblems metOperation
Check air duct opening motor linkageContinue to Step 7Linkage incorrectly connected.Restore correct fastening of linkage to motor
Linkage damagedReplace the linkage.
7COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation
Check correct compressor activation by carrying out the test See Test 5040BC Check activation/deactivation of climate control compressor from linear sensorContinue to Step 9The compressor is not activatedCheck and, if necessary restore the continuity/insulation of the electrical connection See E6020 AIR CONDITIONING
8CHECKING CORRECT OPERATION USING TESTERAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the faults in the iar mixing motors do not persist (after the self-learning procedure)End of diagnosisLeft air mixer motor faultyReplace LH air mixer motor. Op. 5040D84
Right air mixing motor error.Replace RH air mixer motor. Op. 5040D86
9CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONAll OKProblems metOperation
Replace the linear sensor and check that the fault is no longer presentEnd of diagnosisFault persistsContinue to Step 10
10CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATIONAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the fault is no longer presentEnd of diagnosisFault persistsChange the climate control system node
