CATALYZER

The catalytic silencer is fitted with a two-way catalyst.

The catalyst (locatedon the exhaust pipe) makes it possible to reduce emissions into the atmosphere of the following:

• carbon monoxide (CO)
• unburnt hydrocarbons (HC).

INJECTION PUMP

Diesel injection pump electronically operated by a (DPC/CPCN type) control unit.

Specifications:

• charging lever potentiometer
• advance solenoid valve
• electronic module with injection pump cut out solenoid valve incorporated.

2. Charging lever potentiometer

CHARGING LEVER POTENTIOMETER

Function

The charging lever potentiometer:

• adjusts the "vehicle load" position requested by the driver
• allows the injection control unit to deduce the mass of fuel drawn in according to the engine speed.

Description

The "load" function is used for the following strategies:

• injection advance
• exhaust gas recirculation
• post-heating
• refrigeration interruption
• the potentiometer receives a 5 Volt supply from the injection control unit
• the potentiometer cursor moves on a resistive plate and transmits a voltage to the injection control unit that varies according to the position of the load lever.

Electrical specifications

Destination of the connector contacts (3-way black):

• pin 1: +5V supply
• pin 2: signal
• pin 3: earth

The potentiometer outlet voltage varies between 0.2 and 4.9 V (between pin D4 of connector B and pin E2 of connector A of the control unit). Resistance value between pin 1 and 3 of the potentiometer: variable at around 3320 to 4980 Ohm.

Location

The potentiometer forms one piece with the load lever on the injection pump.
