Function
This solenoid valve makes it possible to meter the pressure operating the advance according to the transfer pressure.
- Advance solenoid valve
- a. Advance piston
- b. Ball joint
- c. Return spring
- d. Cam seal
Description
Operation:
- a piston (a), housed in the casing, is connected to the cam seal (d) by means of a ball joint (b)
- a return spring (c) allows the movement of the piston (a) when the latter is not subject to the transfer pressure
- the pressure that operates the piston is modified by the return flow rate managed by a solenoid valve (3), fastened to the hydraulic head by the casing
- the solenoid valve operation is through DC-Duty Cycle voltage, from a signal coming from the injection control unit.
When the solenoid valve is not supplied (closed):
- the return flow rate is nil
- the transfer pressure forms behind the piston which moves and decreases the advance increase.
When the solenoid valve is supplied (open):
- the return flow rate is maximum
- the pressure on the advance piston decreases
- the spring retracts the piston, decreasing the advance.
Electrical specifications
Destination of the connector contacts (2-way black):
- pin 1: supply
- pin 2: advance solenoid valve.
Operation: injection control unit (earth)
Variable voltage operation (DC - Duty Cycle):
- full supply (maximum DC) = minimum advance (injection delay)
- no supply (minimum DC) = maximum advance
- resistance at 25°C = 12 ±1 Ohm
Location
The advance adjustment solenoid valve is located on the injection pump.
