The injection pump electronic module, connected to the Fiat Code control unit either authorizes or does not authorize the pump cut out solenoid valve supply.

Description

The injection pump electronic module incorporates the injection pump cut out solenoid valve.

The injection pump electronic module is protected by a fixed shield bolted onto the injection pump (bolts with pre-set yield heads).

WARNING The injection pump electronic module is automatically locked 3 seconds after the engine is switched off.

NOTE For electrical system lay-out reasons, the locking signal passes through the injection control unit without any processing.

Electrical specifications

Destination of the connector contacts (4-way black):

• - pin 1: +12V supply (after the twin relay)
• - pin 2: not used
• - pin 3:signal from Fiat Code control unit
• - pin 4: earth

INJECTION TWIN RELAY

The twin relay is operated directly by the injection control unit.

The first section of the relay supplies the following actuators:

• - flow meter
• - exhaust gas recirculation adjustment solenoid valve EGR
• - injection control unit
• - fan relays.

The second section of the relay supplies the following actuators:

• - injection pump electronic module.

NOTE After the engine is switched off, the twin injection relay remains supplied for 4 seconds or 6 minutes in the case of post-ventilation.

When the ignition key is turned to the ON position, the Fiat Code control unit supplies the twin relay once again.

The twin relay, in turn, supplies the electronic module once again.

This makes the dialogue between the Fiat Code control unit and the electronic module possible.
