HEATER PLUGS

Function

The heater plugs (13) allow a rapid temperature increase in the combustion chambers during starting.

Description

The heater plugs consist of an electrical hetaing resistance and a protective metal casing.

PRE/POST-HEATING CONTROL UNIT

Function

The control unit (12) provides an electrical supply for the heater plugs when the injection control unit is operated.

Description

The pre-heating and post-heating times are determined by the injection control unit. If the pre-heating control unit is not working properly, the injection control unit memorizes the error.

Electrical specifications

Destination of connector contacts:

  • pin 1: earth
  • pin 2: not used
  • pin 3: +12V after contact
  • pin 4: engine management control unit input
  • pin 5: pre-heating control unit diagnosis
  • pin 8: +12V permanent
  • pin 9: heater plugs supply
