FUEL ANTI-EVAPORATION SYSTEM

The tank is ventilated by a «closed» type system.

This system prevents the fuel vapours which form in the tank and the fuel system from being discharged into the atmosphere and consequently releasing the light hydrocarbons which they contain which would have a pollutant effect.

The system is made up of a tank (1) with a cap on the filler which does not have an aeration hole, a float valve (2) fitted on the tank and connected to both the separator and the tank via a by-pass pipe (3), a vapour separator (4) on which an overturn valve (5) is fitted, an active charcoal filter (6) connected to the overturn valve and a charcoal filter solenoid valve (7) which, operated by the engine control unit (8), controls the flow of vapours towards the inlet manifold (9).
