INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
The temperature of the intake air is measured by the temperature sensor located on the butterfly casing.
This sensor is made from a plastic casing (1) which contains the sensitive element made up of an (N.T.C.) resistor which varies in a manner which is inversely proportional to the temperature.
If the temperature is between 15°C÷30°C the resistance is 3.3-1.5 kOhm whilst if the temperature is around 80°C the resistance is 0.280-0.360 Ohm.
The electronic control unit supplies the sensor via terminal 13; the circuit closes to earth at terminal 27 of the control unit.
With the sensor detached, the control unit supplies a voltage of 5 V. With the sensor connected, the supply voltage varies according to the temperature (internal resisatnce of the sensor).
COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
The sensor it is composed of a variable N.T.C. resistor and is fitted on the thermostat casing: its operation is the same as that of the air intake sensor.
The electronic control unit supplies the sensor via terminal 14; the circuit closes to earth at terminal 27 of the control unit.
