Principle operating diagram

Schematic diagram showing the planned maintenance indicator control unit (A) connected to battery (B), ignition key (C), earth (D), vehicle speed signal (E), time elapsed counting (F), trip meter button (G), and display (H).
  • A Planned maintenance indicator control unit in instrument panel
  • B Positive from battery (+30)
  • C Positive controlled by ignition (+15)
  • D Earth
  • E Vehicle speed signal
  • F Time elapsed counting
  • G Button for zeroing trip meter/milometer, selecting maintenance indicator configuration
  • H Planned maintenance indicator display

Operating logic

When the driver turns the ignition key to position M (+15), the maintenance key lights up for five seconds and the display shows the mileage (rounded down) remaining until the next service.

When the above mentioned time has elapsed, the display shows the counting of the partial/total mileage.

The operating logic for this device is based on the following criteria:

  • Maintenance interval above 1000 Km
  • Maintenance interval below 1000 Km
  • Maintenance interval exceeded in terms of mileage
  • Maintenance interval exceeded in terms of time

Ignition switch

Diagram of the ignition switch showing positions S (Engine switched off), A (Waiting position), M (Driving position), and D (Engine starting).

S. Engine switched off
A. Waiting position
M. Driving position
